dr bru << Dr. Bruce Putchat, Director of the Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital, has been a practicing veterinarian for 35 years. Dr. Putchat is a graduate of both the Pennsylvania State University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He is past president of the Lehigh Valley Veterinary Medical Association and a board member of the Lehigh Valley Humane Society.

<< Dr. John Zettelmoyer always takes the time to answer questions. His personal hand/paw-holding style is an extension of his keen medical skills. Dr. Zettelmoyer is a graduate of both Lycoming College and the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been a practicing veterinarian for the past 23 years and is a former Air Force jet pilot.

Brian K. G'Sullivan, DVM is a graduate of Syracuse University and Graduated from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine. He has been in practice in eastern Pennsylvania since 1997 and is trained in CO2 laser surgery and the Securos ACL repair system. Dr. G'Sullivan and his wife Lisa have three cats, one dog and raise exotic chickens and enjoy knitting. >>

Dr. Anjali Bandekar, was graduated from Bombay Veterinary College in 1998 and subsequently earned a Master's Degree in Small Animal Surgery from Great Britain's Royal Veterinary College. Her interests are small animal medicine and surgery with special interest in orthopedic surgery. She enjoys working at Pleasant Valley where her best friend is Fred the African Gray Parrot. >>
<< The gentleman standing next to Vinnie, the front office greeter, is Matthew Putchat. Matt, a graduate of West Virginia University, is working in the office while completing a veterinary technician program. He also is the kennel manager, and works as a veterinary assistant when needed. Matt's hobbies include wildlife rehabilitation. Vinnie's hobbies include sleeping.
Dr. Gus Schwabe
<< Dr. Gus Schwabe is a graduate of Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine and has completed post doctoral studies at Oklahoma State University, Ohio State University and The University of the Netherlands, Utrecht Schools of Veterinary Medicine. He is a practicing Companion Animal Veterinarian with special interest in Canine Reproduction and public education. Dr. Schwabe also enjoys showing his Great Danes in both conformation and obedience and is authoring the first comprehensive book on Giant breeds as a group.
Our grooming technician, Sherry Steigerwalt (with Brandy the German Shepherd), has been "going to the dogs" at PVAH for 20 years. Sherry specializes in grooming small to medium breeds and uses her creativity and clipping/scissoring skills on mixed breed dogs. Sherry's at-home doggie pal is an Old English Bulldog named Trudy. her hobbies include gourmet cooking, gardening, cycling, and collecting and selling antiques. >>
Sue Fallon, C.V.T, has been at PVAH since she arrived in 1987 after two-years of college and has been Hospital Manager since 1993. Sue is completing the Rehabilitation Certification Program through the University of Tennessee Veterinary Medical School/Physical Therapy School. << Fred the African Gray Parrot was hatched in 1983 and is, arguably, the most talented Pleasant Valley staff member. Stationed near the hospital entrance, Fred alternately greets patients in his crisp Pennsylvania accent or accurately mimics the voices of our animal patients.
Laura Podorsky << Laura has been an Animal Health Technician for more than 20 years. One of her specialties is working with exotics (e.g., large cats, reptiles and birds). She has one dog, several cats and three parrots and enjoys the beach and warm weather.
Becky, our receptionist, has been with Pleasant Valley since 2005. She's married and has two children. She also has two dogs and a bird. Becky grauated from Penn State with a B.A. in Animal Science. >>

Shelly (holding Luigi, PVAH's other Persian cat) has been at PVAH since 1988 and completed the Veterinary Technician Program at Manor Jr. College in 1996. << Jenny has been in the animal health field for more than 19 years. She is married with a daughter. Her hobbies include boating with her family and two dogs, a Weimaraner named Shiloh and a Pomeranian named Boone.

 

Meghan

<< Meaghan, one of our Certified Veterinary Technicians, was graduated from Manor College in 2005. When not working, she enjoys horseback riding and hiking. She has a boxer named Tyson and a cat named Rascal. Meaghan loves chocolate.

 

Kim joined Pleasant Valley in 2006 and is in her third year of an Agriscience program at Palisades High School. She loves working with animals and plans to attend college with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. >>

Vyolet, our office manager, has been in animal health care for over 20 years. She has two dogs and six cats. On her own time, she teaches Reiki for animals, animal communication and K9 massage for pet owners.>>

Tonya << Tonya has been with Pleasant Valley since 2006. She is currently working on a Business Management degree from Kutztown University. She recently got married and also brought a puppy into her family. Cory << Cory is an 11th grader at Southern Lehigh High School. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, writing and traveling abroad; so far, he has visited nine European countries. His pets are two turtles (Edwin and Clover) and his dog, Maxie.
Allison has been working at Pleasant Valley since 2004. Since high school, she has been studying nursing at Bucks County Community College. She has a Golden Retriever named Kenzie and a Chocolate Lab mix named Zoe. She also has a cat name Precious and another name Abby, which she adopted from Pleasant Valley. Allison loves working with animals and, although her major isn’t animal related, she hopes to be able to incorporate animals in her work as well as children in the future. >>

Bob << Bob has been part of the Pleasant Valley staff since 2006. He has on dog that he spoils terribly. He likes to play pool, work on cars and is involved in two sports - - baseball and football – at Southern Lehigh High School. In addition, Bob enjoys weightlifting. Bob likes to work with dogs every day because every one has its own personality. Desiree << Desiree has been with Pleasant Valley since 2003. She is currently working toward an Associate degree in Animal Science/Veterinary Technology and hopes to continue at Pleasant Valley after she is graduated. She has four cats: Whiskers, Shadow, Lamoka, and Gucci.
Chelsea is a high school senior and has been at Pleasant Valley since 2005. She plans to attend Penn State after graduation and would like to become a Marine Biologist because of her love of animals. >>

Lauren joined Pleasant Valley in 2006. She is a junior at Southern Lehigh High School and plans to attend college after graduation, studying toward either a career in medicine or chemistry. Lauren has four cats and a dog and would get more if she could because of her love of animals. >>

Jen majors in Small Animal Science at Delaware Valley College and hopes to become a veterinarian. She has worked at Pleasant Valley since 2006 and has a Vizsla named Emma and a tabby cat named Tigger. In her spare time, Jen enjoys cooking for friends and family and running. >>
